     My first show dog, purchased at the age of six weeks, from Sheryl Yu (Fairwyn Shelties) and co-bred with Joan McDaniel (Wynward Shelties).  Ryan completed his championship, owner handled from start to finish.  I will always remember all of our special wins, as they were the first for both of us.  The one that stands out the most was winning a 4 point specialty major and defeating 48 male shelties at the Shetland Sheepdog Club of Northern California Specialty on October 1990 at the age of two.  This was the highlight of our show days together.  Just after this memorable win a local veterinarian over dosed my dogs on Flagyl and Ryan nearly died as a result.  He had to learn how to walk again as the overdose left him paralyzed.  Even after veterinarians said he would not live a long life, he defied their odds and predictions.  Not only did he live, he went on to once again float around the ring by my side to finish his championship at the age of seven.  He was known as my miracle dog.
