My first home bred champion, Rory was breeder/owner
handled to all of his wins towards his championship title.
This included a Best in Specialty Sweeps and fourth in his
American Bred Class at the 1994 National under respected
breeder judge, Charlotte McGowan. Rory's specials
career ended prematurely due to testicular tumors thus the
need to be neutered.. He shined in his retirement
from the show ring by becoming our resident door man and
my constant companion. He greeted every prospective
puppy buyer with his endearing personality making many
wanting to purchase him instead of a puppy. His
late dam, Mandi, was our foundation. She and her
litter sister are behind all of our dogs today. Rory was
the first of two champions from Mandi.
(1-12-06) We lost our hearts today
when we lost our sweet Rory. He
was the most stoic dog I
have ever owned and lived to
please me right up to the
end. He was the
perfect gentleman at home
and in the show ring.
Because he
touched my early dog show life
in such a positive way, I
credit him for the reason I
continued on in shelties
through the many adversities
I experienced during those
early years.
I know in my heart that Rory
is now enthusiastically greeting
and welcoming everyone
who enters heaven like he
did at my front
door.
Rory,
wait for me....
